Project Description:
* Your Task:As a 5th grade learner you have consistently demonstrated what it takes to be a top-notch researcher and competent user of technology /project creator, therefore, I am giving you the opportunity to share your brilliance through this culminating Human Body Systems Project. Choose a body system to study in greater depth and a project from the options below. Create a ‘Focus Question’ that focuses on one of the human body systems. (ex. How does the blood pump in and out of the heart?)
SUGGESTIONS: Get started right away! Have fun digging deeper! Ask me questions! Be creative! Use the Rubric as a checklist!
WHEN IS IT DUE, MS. ROSS? All projects may be brought to the media center Wednesday, March 20th or Monday, March 25th between 8:45 and 9:30am. It is DUE Monday, March 25th , but Early Birds are always welcome!.
Make sure all projects include your name and your teacher
5th Grade - Human Body Systems – Choose one of the 6.Skeletal System, Nervous System, Digestive System, Muscular System, Circulatory System, Cardiovascular System
Project 1 Create a POSTER (ex. Diagram of Circulatory System, Joints of the Skeletal System)
ü Make drawings and illustrations bright and eye catching.
ü Be sure to include your name and the topic of your poster.
Project 2 Create a GAME out of recycled materials (ex. Operation, Digestive System Jeopardy)
ü Using recycled materials, make a board game about protecting the environment and improving air quality.
ü Include directions on how to play.
ü Place game pieces in a labeled ziploc bag.
ü Be sure to creatively name your game.
Project 3 Build a MODEL (ex.Digestive System sequence- “The Path of a Poor Cheeseburger”, Skeletal and Muscular System relationship model)
ü Label the model.
ü Use recycled materials when possible.
ü Include an explanation of the model and what it represents.
ü Please limit model base to no larger than 18” by 18”.
Project 4 Create a Presentation using PowerPoint, tikatok.com, Flipcam video, voki.com, animoto.com, empressr.com, GlogsterEDU Glog, prezi, or blog (ex. Informational Book on Joints or Tendons-tikatok, create a Glog about Diabetes, Glog)
ü Use kid friendly online resources like askkids.com, kidrex.org, kidsclick.org, boolify.org, ducksters.com, factmonster.com.

ü Presentations or urls will need to emailed or placed on name-labeled flash drives to be given to Ms. Ross (gross2@wcpss.net) by March 25th.
ü Presentations will need to be opened on a computer in the computer lab on curriculum night, March 26th by student at their designated time. (Time TBA)
